All my instruments are closely based on historical examples from public and private collections. Each instrument is made following its own specific historical concept, charachter and style of its particulair period or auteur. In some cases, when historical examples are lacking or minimal, information provided from iconographical or other sources are used for reconstruction. Altought I make close “copies” of historical instruments, certain details are always discussed at a personal level in order to achieve together the most satisfactory result for every person. This concerning the string lenght, string height, string spacing, string tension, pitch, type of strings, etc… The optical apparence is of course always in recognition of the original style of the auteur or epoch. When you are not sure wich instrument to order, I’m always willing to advice you personally on choosing the instrument wich suite the most to the type of music and style in wich you will be playing.
My instruments are allways brandmarked with my logo, wich are the armorial bearings of my city of origins Adegem-Maldegem in Belguim.
